Aircraft landing gear are subject to harsh environments which increases the risk of galvanic corrosion. In this simulation the objective is to predict the location on the structure of the areas with high risk of corrosion and the severity of the corrosion.

The model is also used to evaluate the performance, location and extent of the corrosion protection measures required (e.g. coatings, paints etc).

By evaluating the different material options and the corrosion protection measures the optimum corrosion resistant design can be identified.
