Using dissimilar materials such as carbon fiber composites and aluminum in the presence of electrolytes creates galvanic corrosion; approximately 80% of corrosion damage is observed to result from galvanic interaction. Harsh environments with high salt loading tend to exacerbate this corrosion problem.
In this webinar you will learn how corrosion simulation tools are being used to improve decision making regarding durability and operational availability of assets. A novel modeling method that supports more corrosion resistant material selection, and that is based on a standard practice for protecting coupled metals against corrosion (MIL-STD-889D), is introduced.
